        <p>BOZEMAN YOUTH INITIATIVE HOLDS OPEN HOUSE
</p>
<p>
The Bozeman Youth Initiative (BYI) will host an Open House Wednesday, September 17 at 4:00 p.m. at BYI headquarters; 19 North 10th Avenue, Suite 6 (behind On The Rise). 
</p>
<p>
BYI invites anyone in or connected to the Bozeman youth community who wants to learn more about new programs launching this fall to enjoy free pizza, and meet and greet with BYI board and staff.&nbsp;  BYI is starting a new Bike Club, Arts and Events programs, recruiting board members, and seeking ideas from youth for projects to fund that will make a positive impact on Bozeman.

The Bozeman Youth Initiative is a non-profit organization that provides opportunities through mentoring youth-driven, adult-supported programs that help youth work toward their vision of community and reach their full potential.

        <p>&#8220;On Saturday, August 23, 2008, the Bozeman Public Library will present its first annual Children&#8217;s Festival of the Book from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Library in downtown Bozeman.&nbsp; Inspired by the Montana Festival of the Book, the Children’s Festival of the Book intends to take the next step in its effort to serve area families by capitalizing on the Library’s enormously popular children’s program.&nbsp; This one-day event will feature author readings, panel discussions and children’s activities.&nbsp; Joining the festival as the key-note speaker will be celebrated children’s book illustrator Paul O. Zelinsky.&nbsp; The goal of the Festival is to celebrate children’s literature, inspire children of all ages, and instill a life-long love of reading.&#8221;

        <p>Nine-time Grammy award winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member BONNIE RAITT will bring her blistering blues sound to Big Sky on Wednesday, August 27, for an outdoor concert at the Meadow Village Pavilion. This will be Raitt&#8217;s only Montana appearance, and tickets will go on sale Friday, May 23, at 10 a.m. The show will take place rain or shine. Doors open at 6 p.m. and the show will start at 7 p.m.

        <p>Local (Montana) Artists Showcased at Inaugural Museum of the Rockies Artists’ Salon

The Museum of the Rockies announces its first annual Artists’ Salon to be held on Thursday, June 5, 2008 from 7-9:30pm at the Museum. Tickets are $10 per person which includes admission, heavy hors d&#8217;oeuvres from the Emerson Grill, and a no-host bar.&nbsp; A select group of local artists will preview more than 30 collectible, original pieces of art that will then be auctioned off at the Museum’s 2008 Wine Classic: Simply di Vine on Saturday, July 12th. For individuals interested in purchasing a particular piece of art but will not be in attendance at the Wine Classic, remote bidding will be avaialble.
</p>
<p>
Various mediums will be showcased from watercolors to oil painting, pottery to sculpture. Participating artists in the event include: Tom Eversman (oil), Jerolyn Dirks (oil) Jim Dolan (metal sculpture), DG House (oil), Troy Collins (oil), Dana Aaberg (oil), Scott Hale (oil), Michelle Gantt (ceramics), Cherlyn Wilcox (oil), Sarah Angst (Linoleum carving transfers), Craig Hergert (photography), Chiyoko Lewis (vegetable dye technique), Jackie Rainford (oil), and Micheal Holland (Jewelry). Mix and mingle with the artists who created these works and listen to their stories about how they create their art. This event will make art less intimidating and more approachable. Following the event, images of the art will be available in a catalog for viewing at the Ecce Gallery in the Emerson Cultural Center.

The third annual Storyhill Fest is a matchless summer celebration. For two days and two nights this event features acoustic musicians, quality organic catered food, sing-a-longs and a family-friendly celebration. After 17 years of touring and making music around the U.S., the Montana natives Chris Cunningham and John Hermanson, of the popular folk duo Storyhill, are hosting their third annual Storyhill Fest. For years, many of Storyhill?s songs about Montana have inspired audiences. Now fans from coast to coast have a chance to share more deeply the origins of these songs with an intimate opportunity to camp out and indulge for a Montana summer festival.

Musicians for the 2008 festival include Bozemans own Storyhill, Carrie Elkin, Aaron Espe, John Floridis, Meg Hutchinson, Laurie McClain, Justin Roth, Danny Schmidt. We will also be joined by locals bands Jawbone Railroad and Bridger Creek Boys during the dinner hour.

</p>

Welcome back to Summer!
</p>
<p>
We&#8217;re pleased to offer once again one of our most popular events here at the Firehouse 5&#8230; the Summer Young Actors&#8217; Workshop.
</p>
<p>
The students enjoy a full day of theatre training - rehearsal from 9AM until Lunch, and then an afternoon of theatre skills workshops conducted by trained theatre professionals with years of children&#8217;s theatre experience.
</p>
<p>
This summer&#8217;s workshop is centered around an original Firehouse 5 review of current and popular Broadway musicals entitled &#8220;On Broadway!&#8221; Performances are June 20th at 7PM and June 21st at 2PM and 4PM.
</p>
<p>
We only have room for 70 kids - so make sure you reserve your spot early. Tuition is $200 for the first student from each family, and $150 for each additional student from the same family. Please contact us if you are interested in financial assistance.
</p>
<p>
The Young Actors&#8217; Workshop is offered to kids ages 6-18.
</p>
<p>
Please bring a lunch each day. Participants are not allowed to leave for lunch. Also, we strongly recommend bringing a refillable water bottle. Closed-toe shoes with low heels are required. Please, no sandals. The first meeting and registration is Monday, June 11th at 9AM in the cafeteria of Sleeping Giant Middle School in Livingston.
