Troopers- Montana Finest

New West Unfiltered By Colonel Bain, New West Unfiltered 4-25-06

Clem Rodgers (Dad of the famous Will Rodgers)was a man who believed in the law, and taught Will that peacekeepers or lawmen will always have a place in society. Only hearing of the Vigilante Days of Virginia City still holds a mark on the Montana Tropper of today.
Look at the patch and you will see the numbers 3-7-77 which hold significance in the Montana Old West and the New West as well. Religious Leaders of the 1800's called these numbers the "three" being the Holy Trinity and the "Three sevens" being the number of Christ over the wicked. There was much superstition in the days of old.

The Vigalinties in the mining towns painted this in this fashion or terminolgy: Those breaking the law were to be buried in a grave "three foot wide by seven foot long" the seventy seven meant 77 inches deep" Although there are many interperations of these numbers my research came to these answers .
So ask a Montana Trooper what do those numbers mean..Keppin the Old West Alive> :)
