Despite the silence of the state's media and politicians (both parties),
this is what is happening in more and more of Montana.
And while we hear incessantly of land trusts, conservation easements,
protecting open space, etc., - while locking the public out - which is the
part we don't hear:
We also hear nothing of where the common people of Montana are going
to live in the coming years, let alone fish or float.
And who can calculate the loss of character and community,
as well as democracy and freedom that comes with this obscene
disparity in wealth and property?
And Bob Gannon's chum, John Connors, (a trustee of the Montana
Nature Conservancy) quoted in the story, was one of the shameless
promoters of the Montana Power transition to Touch America, a calamity
that will cost the ordinary people of Montana billions of dollars as well as
great hardship in the coming years.
Now that is class war.
