Goodwill Efforts from Yellowstone Club, Moonlight Basin
By Jonathan Weber , 1-08-09
As two Montana resorts struggle struggle with their own financial problems, they are reaching out to their communities: Yellowstone Club members are raising money to help people who are hurting in Big Sky, and Moonlight Basin is offering a skiing deal for Montana residents.
Yellowstone Club members have raised over $100,000 for a fund aimed at helping individuals and families in Big Sky who have been laid off or are otherwise suffering from financial hardship.
Grants from the Big Sky LIFT (Families/Individuals with Financial Trouble) fund will be administered by the Montana Community Foundation, and are available in amounts up to $1,000 for individuals and $2,500 for families. Applicants can call the MCF at 406-443-8313 or apply online at mtcf.org. The deadline is January 9.
At Moonlight, Montana residents can ski for cheap on Friday, Jan. 9; the resort is offering $15 lift tickets and a $5 meal deal for anyone with a Montana driver's license, Montana state ID, or a Montana college student ID as part of its Montana Appreciation Day. A 25% discount on a two-night stay at Moonlight is also on offer.
