LaRocco Now Livingston Group Affiliate

Former Idaho congressman Larry LaRocco has taken on another assignment besides running his own public affairs firm, LaRocco & Associates: he’s made an affiliation agreement with the Washington, D.C. firm The Livingston Group. LaRocco will consult to clients in the energy, environment, financial services and tax practices at TLG.
LaRocco served in the U. S. House of Representatives from the First Congressional District of Idaho from 1991 -1995 and sat on the Banking Committee and the Interior Committees. He has since worked inside and outside of Congress on financial services modernization projects. While on the House Banking committee, he wrote the Snake River Birds of Prey National Conservation Area legislation and worked on forest management issues. LaRocco also worked on rural health care issues along with alternative sources of energy, and he was a member of the Speaker’s Working Group on Policy.
Professionally, LaRocco managed two affiliate associations in securities and insurance for the American Bankers Association and was president of Fleishman-Hillard Government Relations.
The Livingston Group, LLC was created in March 1999 and provides public affairs, government relations and lobbying services worldwide. The firm has added several prominent Democrats to its roster since January.
According to the nonprofit Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington, nearly a quarter of the House and Senate members who were defeated in the 2008 election are now employed with lobbying firms.
“Even though some people deplore lobbying, it’s still a growth profession,” said Bill Allison, a senior fellow with the Sunlight Foundation, a Washington-based watchdog group.
