Local Music Sound Off

Listen: Missoula’s Ryan Bundy Has Nothing to Hide

By Colin Hickey, 3-08-07

This week’s featured local musician is Ryan Bundy, a singer songwriter from Homer Alaska who now calls Montana his home.  Ryan’s music is stripped down bluesy folk that reminds me of early Bob Dylan and I like Bob Dylan so that is a definite compliment. Singer/songwriters have a tough job because it’s just them, a guitar and their words up there on stage. They don’t have the luxury of hiding behind drum and guitar solos like some of us.

Ryan Bundy doesn’t need to hide behind any of those things. Great story telling and guitar playing make his new album Stay the Storm a must listen.

Ryan is throwing a CD Release Party at the Crystal Theatre on March 10th.  Show starts around 7:30.
