A hiker in awe of the aptly named Tall Trees Grove, Redwood National Park, California. Photographed by Jeff Fox as a part of his Experience Wilderness project.
About the project from Jeff Fox: "As a wilderness advocate and former Wilderness Ranger, I knew that the stories and faces of everyday wilderness users are among the most compelling arguments for wilderness protection, an argument perhaps too often lost in the boundary squabbles of ecology, mechanical recreation, and potential mineral development. So in the summer of 2007, I set out across the American West in search of the human side of wilderness. What I found is no surprise: Wilderness is (also) about regular people."
More photos from the project can be seen on Jeff's FLICKR photostream.
