Hector is watching his sheep get settled for the evening. When he's satisfied everything is okay he'll start his ride back to the sheep camp. There, his camptender will have food ready, the camp horses taken care of, firewood split and, if necessary, a kerosene lamp on so he can find his way across the desert.

Hector will take a little time off in the fall to visit Peru after the sheep have returned from the mountains, and then start all over again with winter pastures, lambing, spring trailing to the desert....
