Two water jugs found tied together with rough rope in the desert between Nogales and Sasabe, Ariz. A person can make hundreds, if not thousands of images like this in southern Arizona. As my time with this project carried on I was drawn to the things left behind by the people who attempt to cross the desert. Clothes, shoes, backpacks, water bottles (and bottles of all types), drugs, books, papers...left in the desert as a marker of someone’s existence.
