The Border Patrol agent I was riding with reports the physical description of the Jeep Cherokee that we were chasing through the streets of Douglas, Ariz. Agent M.E. (name withheld for privacy) was a nice guy with whom I had a ton in common. He explained to me how the agents view the border crossers and their jobs to uphold the laws of the country. I witnessed firsthand how the crossers were treated humanely by agents in many situations and was especially touched by the compassion shown by agent M.E.
