OK, I’m Blogging and Kind of Tagging

New West Unfiltered By Courtney Lowery, New West Unfiltered 4-25-06

Our New Mexico Editor Emily Esterson has officially "blog-tagged" me, so I guess I'm it. (Thanks a lot Emily.)

I generally dislike these kinds of "survey" things, but after filling this one out, something occurred to me: These are fantastic little self-awareness exercises. We never take enough time to really check in with ourselves and I, for one, tend to forget key things about myself when I get wrapped up in life, work, love etc. This forced me to spend 10 minutes thinking about me, which I think most do-it-all people (especially women) like me don't do enough of.

One of the reasons I used to really like first dates was because I had to sum myself up over dinner and a drink. It was a great way for me to really take stock in where I'd been, where I was and where I was going -- not to mention who I was. Now that I'm not going on dates anymore (well, Jacob does "ask me out" for dinner from time to time and I've tried to get him to pretend we're on a first date, but it never quite works... ), perhaps I should do one of these surveys every so often, just to check in.

Done! That was a fun break - curious to read about everyone else who goes for it, too.
