A stiff breeze kicked up a dust devil or two, but it didn't blow out the spirit at last night's Albuquerque/Santa Fe launch party. Held at the Albuquerque Press Club on top of the hill behind Memorial Hospital, 100 to 150 people wandered the patios, porches and bar, snacked on munchies and listened to the blues, jazz and rock sounds of Jasper, the band now fronted by Frank McCulloch of the old Broadway Elks.
Sited at the party: City Councilor Martin Heinrich and Councilor/Mayoral candidate Eric Griego. Former Secretary of Economic Development, John Garcia. Charles Poling, Associate Publisher and Editor of Su Casa Magazine, Terry Brunner, U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman's State Director, Laryl Lynch, Publisher of Albuquerque the Magazine, local bloggers Chantal Foster and Mario Burgos, and a lots of others.
Dovya Friedman, of DW Turner, was our intrepid photograper. And Stacy Snyder of Adelante Mailing Services did most of our party planning. Thanks, also, to our great sponsors: Yoganow, Betty's Bath and Day Spa, and Scalo Northern Italian Grill for contributing door prizes.DW Turner, Blue Plate Special and Flywheel Ventures for financial and trade support. Please visit their businesses and support our local business community (end of effusive thanking).
