Salem Coffee House Employees Shows Some Skin
Bikinis Sell Coffee In Oregon

A coffee shop in Oregon’s state capital where the lattes are served up by female baristas wearing bikini tops has drawn attention throughout the country.
Why?
Because sex sells. Not only does it apparently sell coffee, it sells newspapers. Or Web hits. Or just about anything really.
It’s unfortunate that women have to dress in skimpy outfits to increase profit margins at a tiny coffee stand, but it’s reality.
Coffee Nation owners Adam Marshall and Steven Rotan in Salem say they decided they needed an edge when the state required they install a median that would block left-turn access into their business, the Statesman Journal reported. So to attract customers, they decided to have their six female employees wear swimsuit tops.
“It’s really worked,” said Marshall, 28, according to the Journal. “Our profits are going up every day.” They intend to keep up the promotion through the summer as part of a tropical theme that includes a man-made beach and lounge chairs out front.
Sales have doubled to about $1,000 a day since the bikinis have arrived, the Journal reported.
