Bob Wire Has a Point (It's Right Under His Hat)
Interview with the Umpire: Bob Wire Talks With Missoula Mayor
By Bob Wire, 11-15-06
One year ago, Missoula chose a prominent native son to be its next mayor. John Engen was kind enough to sit down with me on the day before election day, to discuss various issues he’s been wrestling with, and to share a little bit about what we can expect to be dealing with down the road. Although I’m not an investigative journalist -- I play one on TV -- I had a few serious questions for the mayor. I also delved into his personal life, chatting about such things as bacon-wrapped-bacon, and the merits of Gold Bond Powder. Engen’s sense of humor got him through four years with a contentious City Council, and it continues to serve him in the M.O. (Mayor’s Office).
