Potosi Hot Springs to Close

In the Gallatin Valley, we pride ourselves in having a handful of natural hot springs to soak away our winter chills.

But after years of being an exceptional getaway for locals and travelers, Potosi Hot Springs near Pony, Montana, is scheduled to close to the public on March 31st.

Despite rumors of another Tim Blixseth and Yellowstone Club buyout, a couple from Texas has purchased the property and want to maintain it as a private residence.

“There is no intentions of developing this place,” said Nick Kern, who with his wife, Christine, has operated Potosi since 2000. “The new owners have great intention and desire to protect the place and keep it the way it is. They will be good caretakers of the land.”

This closure continues its 150-year history of swapping between public and private property. The spectacular wild setting with creek side cabins, breathtaking teal-colored hot springs and organic cuisine is something not to miss while you still can.
