Philosophy, adolescent and peace education
Prominent Montessori Speaker Tonight
By Lucia Stewart, 3-21-07
An internationally recognized Montessori speaker will be at the Bozeman Library tonight, discussing “Montessori: An Education for Life.”
Dr. Betsy Coe is the past president of the American Montessori Society and upper-school principal at School of the Woods in Houston, of which she created.
A century ago, Maria Montessori founded the first Montessori School in Rome, Italy. It is a style of education where the individual learns at his or her own pace, almost discovering the new skill and therefore owning it — not on a uniform classroom timetable.
This will take place at the Bozeman Public Library Meeting Room from 6:30-8:30pm, and presented by The Learning Circle, a Bozeman Montessori Elementary School.
