New West Summit Special Programs

The New West Summit on Transformation in the Rockies will feature two special programs: The Innovation Showcase and Continuing Education

Continuing Education

The pre-conference session on Wednesday, June 6 from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm is entitled "Real Estate, Development and Architecture in the New West." This course has been approved for continuing education credits for real estate agents, attorneys, insurance agents, and approval is pending for architects. Please check back here or call our office for further details on the number of credits and the categories for each of these disciplines. Tickets for the continuing education session only are available, and include the official opening cocktail reception and "fireside chat" scheduled to take place from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The Innovation Showcase

On Thursday afternoon, June 7, New West will present the first "Innovation Showcase." This program will highlight new initiatives with the potential to make a substantial positive economic, cultural or social impact on the Rocky Mountain West. Selected "innovators" in each category will have the opportunity to make a presentation and will receive two free tickets to the Summit, valued at $1700.

The Innovation Showcase includes six specific categories: Commercial, Residential & Resort Development; Energy Products and Technologies; Farm and Forestry Products and Programs; The Restoration Economy; Consumer Products and Services; and Creative Community Initiatives.

Judging will be led by New West in concert with well-known regional organizations, including the Sonoran Institute, the Orton Foundation, the Rocky Mountain Land Use Institute and TechRanch. Innovation Showcase presenters will be announced in April, 2007. Runners-up will be featured on the conference Web site and in the program distributed to attendees, and will be offered discounted tickets to the event.
