Ever been Morphed? Ha Ha.. dat a common term nowdays. As July days come to a close de Colonel reflecting back to de "Without Glory Mission Series" an a story about someone who was quite famous as a Chess Master. A LA. supreme Court Judge's son named Paul Christian Morphy. humm..
Morphy was a Master at Chesswhom the nation rjoyced when he arrived in New York after playing the Master Adolf Anderson of Germany. A match he had left his sick bed to take victory by seven wins, two losses an two draws. Paul was welcomed by well wishers an intellectuals at NYU an was presented a solid gold an silver chessmen made by Tiffanys.
Morphy was asked then to Go West to practice Law, but after a short venture de public could not believe a world chess champion could find their legal difficulties worthy of attention.
