Column: Missoula's Dish
I Don’t Know What to Eat
By Danielle Lattuga, 10-04-07
You are probably hungry, but today, I am starving. Please give a morsel of your own wisdom. A crumb of bread, a drop of wine, a grain of sugar (or a whole piece of cake).
Welcome to the first ever Missoula’s Dish survey. I will, on occasion, like any good server, ask you what you want. For what is a meal without good conversation? (I have enjoyed your comments!).
1) Would you rather have your dishes cleared by someone wearing a bowtie, or a woman wearing a worn out white tee shirt and a black bra?
2) Does the smell of cigarette smoke on the person serving/helping you affect your experience?
3) At which point do you feel your eyes glaze over while hearing the specials?
4) Are you one of those people who would like to know everything about your food, or would you rather not hear all the “details?”
5) At how many, if any, of the restaurants that you frequent, do you have a favorite server?
Please respond to any or all of these questions (it’s buffet style) in the comments section below. I look forward to hearing from you and I promise to try and remember your preferences . . .
Thank you.
