But know that Augustine's works layed the foundation for most all these religions of man...De Libros (books) Confessions, De Trinitate an de "City of God" are Classics an required reading in most major semminaries an higher learn'n institutions.. by dis man born from a black Berber mother (Saint Monica) an a Native fisherman Patricius who was dark skinned. hummmm

As for the Catholic Church it was established by Jesus and the use of the word Catholic Church was first documented in the letters of St. Ignatius of Antioch, which still exist, and he was a student of St. John.
Cyrene being black. Many early muslims were black, and many were well educated. I don't believe God gave all the intellectual amunition to just Hebrew and Caucasian race peoples. What of the chineese, indians, etc.
Recently saw documentary re Prince, a captured black prince from Liberia, who was enslaved by landowner in south USA. When his actual positon, knowledge and intellect were made know to owner, he still was refused freedom until he was very elderly. He never could gain freedom of his children, who, to this day, meet in a huge family reunion. Many direct decendants of Prince, most from Slave owner and Prince's offsrping females.
Prince gained much notoriety, and backing from President, until president found out he was practicing Muslim, not a christian. then funding dropped off quickly. (see.. Jesus and the story of the good Samaritan. BAD PRESIDENT, BAD! )
