The New West Newsgator Widget
By Emily Witcher, 5-09-08
What’s this? It’s our Newsgator widget – a mini-headline reader, which aggregates online news and blog content from around the West and the wider world.
What’s it for? For you to customize: pick and choose the news sources you wish to view, and the latest headline from each one will display whenever you visit NewWest.Net.
How does it work?
Click on the tab at the top with the category of news you want: Western News, Western Blogs, or National News. Headlines will display below from pre-selected news sources. Click on the headline to open the story in a new window.
To customize the widget:
- Click “Choose feeds” in the upper right corner. A list of news sources with checkboxes next to them will appear.
- Click the box in the left to check next to each news source you want to display, or uncheck each news source you don’t want to display.
- When you’re finished, click “Close.”
These preferences will be saved on your computer so the next time you visit NewWest.Net, your selected headlines will appear automatically.
That’s it!
We hope you find our widget useful and fun and most of all, that it helps keep you connected to news in the region.
If there’s a news source or blog you’d like to see in the widget, leave a comment below and we will consider adding it.
