Nathan Drake, age 26, a citizen opposed to the continued slaughter of the last wild bison took direct action on Monday, by occupying the Horse Butte bison trap located on public land. Montana Department of Livestock and other agents forcibly removed the man after he occupied the trap for 15 hours. Yellowstone National Park has captured 44 wild American bison as of this morning, bringing the current total to 139, with significant increases expected. This morning, an additional 30 bison were shipped to slaughter. These actions are all to appease Montana's cattle interests, who fear the return of wild bison to their native range. [more]
