Listen: Missoula Anti-Folk Artist’s New Album Addresses Politics, Missoula’s Gay Community

Nathan Carter, also known as purrbot, is about to release his third album, civil unrest, upon Missoula.

Unlike purrbot's first two CD's, which were both self-produced, Carter teamed up with Firefly Sessions Recordings in Missoula to produce civil unrest, an album that aims to act as a catalyst for political action concerning the gay community.

The 12-song CD features songs about Carter's personal life and things he has seen, heard and experienced in Missoula, he said. The album asks its listeners to explore the idea that personal relationships can encourage real political change, especially within the gay community, Carter said. In turn, Carter expects Missoula to "receive (him) with open arms."

Purrbot plays this Saturday at the Crystal Theater in Missoula. The doors open at 8:00 p.m., the show starts at 8:30 p.m. and tickets are $5. [End of article]
