The AP’s Kelli Kennedy reported over the weekend on
a new niche in the tourism industry – “the procreation vacation,” a getaway “designed to help fertility-challenged couples relax.” One of the destinations offering such a trip is the Teton Mountain Lodge in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Its
Procreation Ski Vacation “attends to the details of romance to make sure the mood is right” with, among other treats, a dogsled trip to hot springs, couples spa treatment, and a candle-lit dinner for two served in your room. The package starts at $950 per person based on, according to the Lodge’s webpage, two-person occupancy. Hmm.
The
Chicago Tribune has a couple articles today about the ski resort scene. In one,
Dan Leeth looks at regional options for skiers and snowboarders and picks out the pros and cons of each. One of the pros of skiing in the Northern Rockies?
Moose Drool. The Tribune also offers up the
“Best eats in the America West.” Samantha Berman of SKI Magazine runs through menus in six of the most popular ski towns.
For the gear-heads among us, First Tracks!! Online has released its 2006 Holiday Ski & Snowboard Gift Guide (
Part I and
Part II) with picks on the best of the best from jackets to electronic gizmos and gadgets. Incidentally, First Tracks!! is now offering
ski vacations for singles – the one-person occupancy procreation vacation?
