Road raged Missoula motorist plows Kyoto rally biker, Mayhem insues.

By 6pm on Friday the the Kioto treaty awareness bike parade had set out to raise awareness about Greenhouse gas emmissions by biking thorough downtown Missoula, using the most viable green transportation option, bicycles. One weary mototist was not ammused by the dragon of pedalers, stuck in gridlock rush hour traffic at the intersection of Front and Higgings.
Police and medical staff arrived on the scene who along with dozens of cyclists and bystanders filled the sidewalks at this key intesectin at the mouth of the Higgins bridge. Motor traffic was reduced to a trickle. This hedgemonic move by the bikers showed their superiority of mobility in an urban setting. As cars stood still choking the city the merry band of bikers made their way to their destination, the Kettle House, for a brew, minus a few who stuck with their fallen rider.

The victim, "Buddy" from Alberton refused an ambuance ride but was limping after the incident. The motorist was not issued a citation. Apparently the officers, who arrived by car could sympathise only with the driver.

It was as if traffic was corked at the key place and time to shut down the city, for a quarter of an hour at least. Meanwhile droves of pedestrians passed by effortlessly. The scene took place in front of the Wilma theater which was incadentally hosting the move "Walking to Werner," about a 1200 mile stroll down the west coast. [End of article]

It wouldn't be funny if the person had been seriously hurt. I am just glad to see trouble-makers get a little of their own medicine. But, I am aware of the fact that it just makes them more of a martyr in their own eyes. Why anyone thinks that making others miserable will bring sympathy to their cause has always been beyond me.

I must clairify that the "Mayhem" didn't insue untill the Roadrager did her plowing and the incident scene blocked the intersection. The bikers were doing there thing in a very peaceful and harmonious way, going with the flow of traffic. Pedestrians and all bikers were then, after the incident, unaffected by the gridlock which was a direct result of one hurried driver.
The intent of the ride was not sabatoge of the roads. That was a symptom, an irony, and an indirect result.
