Skinhead Inmate Kills Officer at the U

This morning Curtis Allgier, an inmate at the Utah State Correctional facility and proclaimed white-supremacist, disarmed and killed the corrections officer guarding him during a visit to the University of Utah Hospital’s Orthopedic Center in Research Park.

The officer, 60-year-old Stephen Anderson, a 22 year veteran of the force, died at the scene.

After shooting Anderson, Allgier fled the scene after carjacking a blue Ford Explorer on a nearby busy road.

Police chased Allgier, until he was apprehended on the opposite end of town at an Arby’s Restaurant on Redwood Rd. and 1700 South.

Allgier is covered from head-to-toe in a smattering of low-quality tattoos decrying his predilection for neo-nazi iconography.

Not much is known about his motives so far, but family members claim that he was not raised in a racist or violent environment. In fact, according to his sisters he was once a dedicated fan of Michael Jordan, Kirby Puckett and MC Hammer.
