Hello Readers,
The Old West was a loney place but as the head explorer stated when he found de fifteen year old Inez Gonzales amongst Mexican traders. Surveyor Barlett was well aware of Triste work to substandate the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo, "rights for de Mexican-American living north of de line" . He sent a band of eight soldier soldiers free her.
Inez was "artless, simple an interesting in apperance" to de many mappers, soldiers and guides. Mira..una Luz Gonzales of the desert, replied another..
Barlett's felt he was graced by the presence of Inez from Santa Cruz. He spoke "if it be said full recompense for the trails and hardships attending our sojourn in this hospitable wilderness."
Barlett felt responsible to return de fair Luz Senorita Inez back to Santa Cruz wich a joyous reception t'was held by her family.
After sume months passed, he found de girl living wit de Captain of de garrison at Tubac. She again became his captive for her own protection although she was quite comfortable where she was at.
Barlett explained to her it was his moral position an to be married with what was rite! Living in sin!
De Colonel couldn't blame him!
Of course it was perhaps effectively said for Inez an el capitan were finally married, legitimizing dos muchitos dat she had bore for him.
Sum time we just don't speak up for what morally rite! In dis case Inez was de winner!! Barlett had peace of mind.. an all boundaries on the southern part that joined Mexico to de USA will Have a "Little Luz of Inez"...
Giddup .. Keeping de Old West Alive!! :)
