Friday, Sept. 7
Art in the Park – The Boise Art Museum’s annual festival of art and artisans of all media takes over Julia Davis Park with more than 250 booths including food and vendors and kids activities. BAM is also open for free during the weekend-long celebration. All day from Friday through Sunday.
Jazz on The Grove – A party kind of like the weekly summer concert series Alive After 5, but instead of rock, jam or bluegrass bands, it’s just jazz. Sandon Mayhew Group and The Bad Plus perform for free on The Grove from 5 to 10 p.m.
Monday, Sept. 10
The Beyoncé Experience – Finally! Boiseans will get to see Beyonce in all her real live bootylicousness. We ARE ready for this jelly. If you are crazy in love with the former Destiny’s Child, you can pick up tickets on eBay for a mere $330. Or see if Select-a-Seat has any left. The show at the Taco Bell Arena begins at 7 p.m.
Tuesday, Sept. 11
Chess at the Library – Every Tuesday chess lessons begin at 6 p.m. So if you don’t know your rook from you bishop, head to the Garden City Library for the basics on one of the most popular board games in the world. And stay for open play co-sponsored by eXtreme Chess. It’s free and all ages are welcome.
