For thousands of real estate agents and brokers affiliated with Cabela's Trophy Properties (CTP), it's now The Cabela's Way or The Highway.| We understand that the bigger you are, the bigger the bullseye on your back. This is not our first rodeo. -- Mike Callahan, Cabela's | |
Too bad Cabela's still can't walk the talk. From their website:

With the lure of St. Mary's Glacier, abundant trout filled lakes, miles of hiking and biking trails and the soon to be opened Eclipse Snow Park (owned by Michael Coors a member of the Coors Family) it won't be long before people find out about this mountain playground. Rockwood 1884 is the last big parcel of ground in the area yet to be subdivided. It offers the investor a chance to really capitalize on this up and coming market. (The current owner has already prepared detailed drawings for home sites and roads, with easy access to water, power and sewer) Keep the best creek side home sites and national forest access for yourself and subdivide the rest.

Cabela's must demonstrate that they walk the talk, otherwise they resemble greenwash hypocrites like Al Gore. What part of "keep the best for yourself and subdivide the rest" that Cabela's can't understand? This is but one of onging examples that still exist. I guess that makes me one of the scoffing detractors that has bus wheel marks over my back. This isn't a matter of belief by doubters, it's a matter of Cabela's iving up to its honesty and integrity code that it just can't seem to find a handle on. I'll take the facts over belief any day. I have NO faith in Cabela's word as demonstrated by facts that say otherwise.
Cabela's tries to have us believe they are environmental responsible in addition to their attention to the needs of average joe field sportsman. Here is a link that calls their honesty and integrity into question over siting one of their new mega-stores in Austin, Texas: http://forums.rockymtnfly.com/index.php?showtopic=2721&pid=24007&mode=threaded&start;=#entry24007
Like getting into the trophy property business it's all about money, making the quarterlies, getting away with as much as possible before anyone notices, apoligize as Mr. Calahan has, play the victim, shell out a few pieces of silver for an indulgence, and then do nothing.
I'm quite amazed at the amazement which seems to underlie Montanian's recent discovery that homo sapiens has been diddling himself away from the dinner table.
We're heading rapidly for nine billion people on this beautiful blue planet, folks. It should shock nobody that more and more of our once unfenced land is being shut down to public access. Scapegoating wealthy landowners or the corporations and other businesses which are exploiting the demand by wealthy would-be landowners seems just one more evidence of the insanity du jour--denial. And I'm not talking about de river in Egypt...
What does Cabele's not understand about GET THE HELL OUT OF THE REAL ESTATE BUSINESS?
