Thousands of music lovers from near and far descended upon Butte, Montana this weekend for the 70th National Folk Festival. Festivalgoers ambled among seven different stages taking in music, dance and cultural traditions ranging from zydeco to cowboy poetry to gospel and blues.
Enjoy this multimedia glimpse from the festival.
[End of article]Thanks so much for your sponsorship of the National Folk Festival held in Butte this weekend. The festival was a remarkably wonderful experience of the arts and diverse cultures and enjoyed by thousands, many of whom were Montanans. Your help to make the festival possible is truly appreciated. Thanks!

Comment By Don Mazzola, 7-17-08, 7-17-08Thanks for the Sights and Sounds from the Festival. We attended shows Friday night and all day Saturday. It was fabulous. I understand that the video clip was pretty short and I'm guessing that my comment will raise an "oh, c'mon!" from some who read it, but, next year, you may want to include some of the acts with, for lack of a better phrase, "people of color." There were bands playing Reggae, Afro-Cuban, Zydeco and Chicago Blues in addition to the acts featured in your vid. With so little ethnic diversity in Montana, having a chance to see and listen to these bands was a pure treat. My musical tastes are such that if I hadn't gone this year, the video would do little to motivate me to go next year. Thanks for this chance to comment.
