Allen Morris Jones has lived and worked in Montana for almost twenty-five years. He is the former editor of the Big Sky Journal, editor and co-publisher of the Bangtail Press (a small bookhouse) and a freelance writer. His books include the novel Last Year’s River and A Quiet Place of Violence: Hunting and Ethics in the Missouri River Breaks. As an editor, novelist and essayist, he has spent most of his adult life trying to describe the West, and reading others who are after the same thing. Thus, Allen was a perfect fit to be New West's judicious guide to Western writers and their works. We love that our home has become a comfortable and inspiring place for writers to settle and do their work. Allen's pages will be hubs to connect our readers to this vibrant literary community.
