Christian Probasco moved to Salt Lake City from Valparaiso, Indiana, where he grew up, in 1986. He studied English literature, journalism, political science and philosophy at the University of Utah. He has lived in Flagstaff, Ariz., Mesa, Ariz., Las Vegas, Nev. and Henderson, Nev. He and his wife and son now reside in Mount Pleasant, Utah. He is a reporter for the Sanpete Messenger. He has also written for Off-Road Adventure, Utah’s Sports Guide, Salt Lake’s City Weekly, American Survival Magazine, Route 66 Magazine and the Mountain Gazette. He is the author of Highway 12, published by Utah State University, about Utah’s only All-American Road. He does most of his exploring in the Heep, a notoriously unreliable CJ-5.
