Michael Pearlman emigrated from New York to Jackson Hole in 1996 seeking enlghtenment, inner peace and the most challenging ski terrain in the country.
He missed the dot.com boom due to his love affair with the Tetons, but did manage to visit 10 different countries before taking a full-time job in journalism.
During his six-year tenure as Sports Editor for the Jackson Hole News & Guide, he explored the personalities, pursuits and subculture of a community where adrenaline addiction is an accepted disorder. He prefers backcountry skiing to the homogenous resort experience, cycling on dirt instead of pavement and rock and roll over rap.
His blog tackles the issues on the lips of residents in the West's resort communities, recreation-related news topics and his own personal experiences exploring the Bighorn Mountains with his golden-retreiver Neve from his new home base of Sheridan, Wyoming.
