Food Stuff

Dean Williamson

Shameless promotion of Montana’s food producers and food systems and local food itself: the healthiest way to do food (nutritionally, economically, environmentally, socially).

I am a teacher, most recently at Montana State and Bozeman High but also at a medium-security prison. I teach creative writing and American Literature (mainly Latino and Native American lit). I also work with schools and nonprofits to enhance their communication and leadership skills, to help folks get more creative and imaginative.

I love the Big Sky outdoors--backcountry skiing, skate skiing, backpacking, biking, camping, canoeing, kayaking, doing all the outdoors things. I dig travel, to wherever, though I am quite fond of Spanish-speaking places, beaches, and hammocks. A cold beer is handy, too.

I ride my bike almost exclusively as my transportation because driving makes me crazy--except when I am heading out of town on an adventure.

My favorite color is purple; I write with my left hand. Chocolate chip cookies may be the death of me--but what a way to go.
