Though born and raised in Philadelphia, Howard Rothman has lived in Colorado for so long he remembers when cars cruised Boulder’s Pearl Street and I-70 had only a single tunnel bore. He first tasted life in the West in the mid-70s when he stopped to visit a friend near the end of a three-month cross-country journey in a tricked out 1966 Dodge van and, like so many others, simply never left. In the intervening years he has lived in a variety of urban and rural locations throughout Colorado and Wyoming, ultimately settling near Denver where he and his wife Pat have raised a pair of Western
natives. Since earning a journalism degree from Penn State he has been a newspaper editor, magazine writer, non-fiction book author, television event scout, Internet content provider and Wall Street researcher, and still hopes to add novelist to his resume before he gets too old to type. Self-employed since 1982, he tells people he works long hours but can usually be seen walking his dog or riding his bike during the nicest parts of each day.
