Susan writes about community and the environment for a number of Columbia Gorge magazines and newspapers. She writes a monthly column for the Hood River News. Her columns won a 2005 award from the National Society of Newspaper Columnists.
A former hospital Marketing Director, Susan planned, wrote, and designed advertising and media coverage for the hospital. The Hospital Board of Directors awarded her its Achievements in Heathcare Award.
She's a member of Columbia River Writers and chairs the Hood River County Cultural Trust. She holds a bachelor's degree in city planning, a master's degree in business, and is a member of both the National Society of Newspaper Columnists and the Society of Environmental Journalists.
