Mitzi-Jill Rapkin
Renaissance woman, wrote first poem in high school and discovered that writing (all sorts) was actually "cool."
Mitzi is the only blue-eyed mountain girl in her family that hails from Rochester, New York and before that, Eastern Europe. After teaching environmental education and leading biking, hiking and naturalist trips around the world she settled into writing. She has a master’s degree in journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University. Past gigs include Producer for National Geographic, reporter for Crested Butte Chronicle and Pilot, freelance radio and TV reporter on Capitol Hill, public radio reporter in Crested Butte and Aspen, Colorado and freelance writer. Currently Mitzi is working as the Communications Director for the City of Aspen and learning more than she ever imagined as a government employee.
