Jan Wassink studies wildlife management at Colorado State and Utah State Universities and has been photographing and writing about wild creatures for over 30 years. His previous books include Birds of the Central Rockies, Mammals of the Central Rockies,

and Birds of the Pacific Northwest Mountains, published by Mountain Press, and Idaho Wildlife, in the American Geographic series. His articles and photographs have appeared in numerous publications. He and his wife live in Kalispell, Montana.
