On October 12th and 13th, NewWest.Net will present its 4th annual Real Estate and Development in the Northern Rockies conference.
The premiere annual business event in the region, Real Estate and Development in the Northern Rockies features a rich mix of presentations, discussions and networking opportunities, all designed to advance our understanding of the economic forces shaping our region and provide practical advice on how to navigate the changing market.
Don’t miss this unique gathering of prominent developers, financiers, government officials, real estate agents, architects, attorneys, journalists and non-profit leaders from around the region.
Monday, October 12th features four pre-conference tours. One will visit Butte, for a look at that city’s remarkably architectural heritage. A second will offer a close look at conservation development in Central Idaho, including an overnight stay at the Blackhawk on the River development. A third will feature Missoula’s green commercial and infill projects. The fourth is a walking tour of redevelopment in downtown Missoula, led by Missoula Mayor John Engen.
The conference formally kicks off Monday afternoon with a talk by renowned economists Chris Thornberg, who has offered deadly accurate predictions about the direction of the real estate market at our previous events. The session will conclude with the conference opening reception and networking social, sponsored by First Security Bank.
Tuesday, October 13th is a full-day program, with multi-track discussions and presentations focusing on land use, sustainable design, public policy, energy efficiency, financing and much more. The afternoon will feature keynote speakers Luther Propst, head of the Sonoran Institute, and Sam Byrne, one of the nation’s savviest real estate investors and the new owner of the Yellowstone Club.

2009 Conference Details

The pre-conference tours will begin on Sunday, October 11th and Monday, October 12th at various times. The Monday evening keynote and opening social begins at 4:30 p.m. On Tuesday, October 13th, the continuing education sessions and panel discussions begin at 8:30 a.m. and will conclude at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday evening will feature an afternoon reception. Registration for Real Estate and Development in the Northern Rockies is now open, click here to register online. The cost is $198 before Sept. 11th, and $269 after that date. A special rate of $119 is available for government and university employees and full-time students. There is also a Tuesday-only conference pass for $198. The full conference pass ($269) includes the pre-conference tours, otherwise there is a minimal fee for the tours. There is a $50 administrative fee for all CE credits.
