Ski Showdown Montana
By Special Advertiser, 12-24-07
Located in the heart of the Little Belt Mountains of the Lewis and Clark National Forest, you’ll find Montana’s oldest and friendliest ski area—Showdown Montana. Topping out at 8,200 feet, and offering 1,400 feet of vertical drop on 34 runs, Showdown offers a variety of terrain for skiers and riders of all abilities and ages.
The unique geography surrounding Showdown makes for some of the best dry, all natural powder you’ll find anywhere in the West. That’s right, there are no hoses, snow guns, condos or lift lines here—just a great family area that has been providing some of the best skiing and riding in Montana for over 70 years. And because we are family-owned and operated, we want to make sure that you can afford to bring the whole family skiing. So we’ve kept our lift tickets low—just $33.
The base lodge offers breakfast, lunch and snacks at the Kings Hill Grill, espresso warm ups at the T-Bar, drinks and music at the Hole-In-The-Wall Saloon, a bright and friendly Day Care, as well as Skier’s Edge Pro-Shop. You’ll also find a full service rental shop offering the high-quality alpine skis, snowboards, telemark skis, snowbikes and snowshoes.
Showdown’s energetic and empathetic Snow Sports Instructors will help you conquer the slopes, whether you’re 4 or 84. With learning packages starting at just $39 and 3-day packages available for $109, learning to ski can still be affordable for the whole family, and our new learning area complete with magic carpet and beginner chair has made it even easier.
Nearby winter fun includes hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails, as well as cross-country skiing on groomed and backcountry trails. The nearby communities of Neihart, Monarch, White Sulphur Springs and Great Falls offer a variety of lodging options.
Showdown Ski Area is located just 65 miles southeast of Great Falls on U.S. 89, or fly via Delta, Northwest or Horizon into the Great Falls International Airport.
