The West’s winter wonders and the adventures they inspire make for great photography—we call it snowtography. And so NewWest.Net and its Snowblog present the Snowtography Contest. Whether it’s skiing or snowboarding, wildlife or snowscapes or snowball fights, venture outside and capture winter in the Rockies for a shot at cool prizes.

The online contest is sponsored by the Missoula-area businesses Edge of the World and The Dark Room and open to pro and amateur photographers alike, shooting in the Rocky Mountain region.

Prizes
Three winners will be chosen by NewWest.Net’s crack team of photo editors. 1st place will receive a snowboard from Edge of the World, 2nd place a camera from The Dark Room, and 3rd place another prize to be announced.

Rules
You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States. Your photos must have been taken in the Rocky Mountain region, which we define as New Mexico, Idaho, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana, during the 2007/2008 winter season. The photos you submit must have been taken by you, and you must hold the full rights to the photos. NewWest.Net employees and contributors are free to submit photos, but they are ineligible to win prizes. By submitting, you grant NewWest.Net the right to use submissions as “featured images” on NewWest.Net.

Submit!
You can submit up to five photos. Please email them—files no larger than 500k, please—to NewWest.Net photographer Anne Medley at , who’ll upload the photos to the Snowtography Flickr group. Or, if you’re already registered with Flickr, you can submit your entries yourself by visiting www.flickr.com/groups/snowtography. Entries must include location information.

We will accept entries through March 21, 2008 at 5:00 pm MT. Winners will be notified by email by March 31.

Thanks for playing, and good luck!
