Getting to know you ...

Well, I tend to be the one who quietly slips out of the room during team-building exercises and the singing of "Cumbaya" ... but I'm also willing try almost anything once. So here's my stab at sharing my most heart-felt lists with whoever may care.
Four jobs I've had:
1. River guide
2. Bus driver
3. Door-to-door environmental-group canvasser
4. Roller-skating waiter (I swear to God)
Four movies I can watch over and over:
1. The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou
2. The African Queen
3. Lonely are the Brave
4. Scrapple
Four places I've lived:
1. Tabernash, Colorado
2. Natural Bridges National Monument
3. Durham, New Hampshire
4. Boulder, Colorado (a requisite stop in the life-long pilgrammage of any posey-sniffing, bleeding-heart, tree-hugging dirt worshipper)
Four TV shows I love:
1. Star Trek: Voyager
2. Northern Exposure
3. Twin Peaks (anyone remember that one?)
4. Baseball Tonight
Four concerts I'm glad I went to:
1. Patti Smith Group, 1978 (You had to be there ... )
2. Little Feat, 1978 (Only a few months before Lowell George died ... )
3. Squeeze, 1988 (in a tiny room on the CU campus with only 100 other fans ...)
4. Bruce Cockburn (every one of the 18 times my wife and I have seen him ... so far ...)
Four places I've visited:
1. Botswana and Zimbabwe (a hitchhiking honeymoon ...)
2. Europe
3. Alaska Highway (driving the whole length with two kids and a dog ... )
4. Cedar Mesa, Utah (where my spirit will go when I die ...)
Four of my favorite dishes:
1. Pepperoni and green chilie pizza
2. Shepard's Pie
3. Vermont extra-sharp cheddar cheese, fresh bread, and a bottle of white wine
4. A six-pack, grilled fresh trout, and a pile of hot homefries and onions.
Four sites I visit daily:
1. Newwest.net
2. MLB.com
3. Pandora.com
4. Wolfgangsvault.com
Four places I would rather be right now:
1. Fenway Park
2. Wrigley Field
3. Coors Field
4. Cedar Mesa, Utah
Four things I love about my area (Durango, Colo.)
1. It's about as far from an interstate as you can get in the continental U.S.
2. It's between the mountains and the desert.
3. Fort Lewis College
4. The El Rancho Tavern
Four books I'll read again, and again:
1. Desert Solitaire, by Edward Abbey
2. Walden, by Henry David Thoreau
3. Blood Orchid, by Charles Bowden
4. Immediatism, by Hakim Bey
