H2Ography - Give Us Your Best Western Water Shot!

Whether it’s whitewater rafting or a tranquil float in a tube, dousing flames or farming, fly-fishing or camping at an alpine lake, summer in the West is all about water. And so NewWest.Net presents H2Ography, our 2008 summer photo contest. Give us your best water shot and win cool prizes.
The online contest, hosted by Flickr, is sponsored by the Rocky Mountain School of Photography and Missoula-area businesses The Dark Room, The Canoe Rack, and Big Dipper Ice Cream. It’s open to pro and amateur photographers alike, shooting in the Rocky Mountain region.
Prizes
Winners will be chosen by NewWest.Net’s photo editors. 1st place will receive a week-long photography workshop at the Rocky Mountain School of Photography, 2nd place a camera from The Dark Room, 3rd place a lesson from The Canoe Rack, and 4th wins free ice cream and other cool stuff from Big Dipper Ice Cream. More prize details to come.
Rules
You must be at least 18 years old and a resident of the United States. Your photos must have been taken in the Rocky Mountain region, which we define as New Mexico, Idaho, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, and Montana, during the summer of 2008. The photos you submit must have been taken by you, and you must hold the full rights to the photos. NewWest.Net employees and contributors are free to submit photos, but they are ineligible to win prizes. By submitting, you grant NewWest.Net the right to use submissions as “featured images” on NewWest.Net.
Because NewWest.Net is headquartered in Missoula, Montana, some of the prizes are Missoula-centric and may require winners to be here to redeem them. If for any reason you cannot use the prize, you lose it, and New West will not offer alternative prizes or cash of equal value.
Submit!
You can submit up to five photos. Please email them—image resolution of 72 dpi and files no larger than 500k, please—to NewWest.Net photographer Anne Medley at anne@newwest.net, who’ll upload the photos to the H2Ography Flickr group. Or, if you’re already registered with Flickr, you can submit your entries yourself by visiting www.flickr.com/groups/h20graphy. Entries must include location information.
We will accept entries through September 5, 2008 at 5:00 pm MT. Winners will be notified by email by September 15.
