Januar’s “Undertow”
By Jenny Shank, 9-22-06
Januar is a melodic Denver three-piece that has rebounded well from a recent bit of bad luck--the group signed with California indie lable The Leapyear Device, and were anticipating a June 2006 release of their debut full-length. Financial and management troubles at the label scuttled the disc's pressing, so Januar went it alone, self-releasing The Way Back Home, which is now available from their website. The disc will get a proper debut with a show November 11 at the Larimer Lounge, but fans can also catch Januar September 29 at Everyday Joe's in Ft. Collins (7 p.m.).
Januar has offered New West readers a track from their long-awaited album. Click here to listen to "Undertow."
