Poll: In Montana Obama vs. McCain More Competitive

By Matthew Frank, 4-11-08

A poll released Thursday by Rasmussen suggests that in Montana, Barack Obama has a better shot of beating John McCain in November than Hillary Clinton.

McCain: 48%
Obama: 43%

McCain: 54%
Clinton: 36%.

McCain is viewed favorably by 56% of Montana voters, Obama by 54%, and Clinton by 42%.

The Rasmussen report states:

It would be truly stunning if Obama could turn Montana into a competitive state this November. George W. Bush won Montana’s 3 Electoral College Votes by twenty percentage points in 2004 and by twenty-five points four years earlier.

Rasmussen Markets data shows that Republicans are currently given a 76.0% chance of winning Montana this November. For more information, click here.

There's still hope for Hilly! She can always just do it. She can just HIRE karl rove instead of just using his tactics! That's about her last best hope in the last best place! And I predict she'll just DO it! I mean, with Mellon scaife and rove on her team, anything's possible!.........maybe she'll ask mccain or lieberman to join her as VP.

Hello again,

If you haven't had the opportunity to read this well researched piece about fixing America's election systems, you might ask yourself this: What does this article have to do with the voting systems in Montana and more specifically what happened in the Kalispell and Missoula elections of 2006.
There's a BIG white elephant in the Elections rooms in Montana and nobody is noticing ....
All those supposedly Democratic organizations getting out and registering the vote in Montana, such a worthy endeavor ... or is it? Who in Montana is watching election central?
While the League of Women Voters of Montana are concerned (see "Ohio Report Faults Montana Voting Machines," http://lwvmt.montana.com/op-ed_Jan-08.html ) with the possibilty of vote tampering and outright fraud in Montana elections, the question is, who is minding the store in Montana Elections? In their Ohio report, the same voting machines used in Montana Elections, were used in Ohio in 2004 election (See "Widespread election fraud in Cleveland?" http://blog.democrats.com/node/812 ) .
Now here's an excerpt from the Ohio report:

"Researchers found the M100 optical scanners are “susceptible to attacks at the polling location that could affect election integrity,” and “an unauthorized individual could delete records of votes by zeroing out the vote totals.” The 650 central counter was, “successfully tampered to alter elections data in erratic ways and with obvious, but unpredictable results.” The AutoMARK’s sensitive inner machine was easily accessed by disassembling its cover.

(Read the report: http://www.sos.state.oh.us/sos/info/EVEREST.aspx)"

Thank goodness that Richard Hayes Phillips (see http://witnesstoacrime.com/) spent three years of his life Auditing Ohio's election and whose brand new book, "Witness to a Crime - A Citizens' Audit of an American Election" is a testament to his determined effort and the reason Ohio Seretary of State, Jennifer Brunner was forced to commission this study of Ohio's voting machines. But again, which brave Montana Democratic Organization is or has audited Montana's voting? Why sign people up to vote, if there is a very real possibility that their votes will not count? I am working with Richard Hayes Phillips to bring him to Montana early summer (tentatively early June) to hold Citizen Audit workshops and book signings. If you would like to help insure Montana's elections are honest, open and fair, please contact me to help with Richard's appearences statewide.

thank you,

Y3s, Mrs. Clinton's negatives are hirer than are Mr. Obamas. That is true primarily for two reasons: the Rar Right has been hammering away at Hillary ever since she became First Lady and later a U.S. Senator. Tragically, some of their mud has stuck. The other reason that her negatives are higher than his is because the American people simply and truthfully don't know who he is. Obama has been on the national scene for only 2 or 3 years and only recently is he beginning to demonstrate his weaknesses.

The Republican Killing Machine will, I worry, have an easy time defining him as they wish. remember Gore and Kerry? The were both defined by the Republican campaigns for us...and we knew a heck of a lot more about them and their records than we do about Obama.
