Registration Now Required to Comment
By Matthew Frank, 9-10-08
Because we at NewWest.Net continue to struggle with keeping a handle on trolls, spammers and users who disregard our terms of service, we’ve decided to require registration to comment.
We tried to avoid doing this for a long time out of fear that in deterring knee-jerk and hateful comments we’d also reduce the number of meaningful conversations we foster on the site. We hope that won’t be the case.
The registration process should be quick and easy. Those who are already registered won’t notice a change. If you have any problems or suggestions, please email our webmaster at webmaster@newwest.net. Thanks.

Seriously, glad to hear this; I was so tired of getting comment notifications that turned out to be advertising for enlargement of body parts I don't have. Thank you.
