Salazar’s Interior Scraps Oil-Shale Leases in Utah, Colorado

Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar announced Wednesday that his department is withdrawing a round of oil-shale leases in Utah and Colorado.
The Bush Administration had pushed the leases forward before leaving office and Salazar lumped them in with other outgoing decisions that didn't "pass the smell test."
The leases will go now go back up for public comment with a 90-day limit.
