Santa’s Bringing Snow

Apparently all the powder hounds in the West asked Santa for snow, because he’s bringin’ it! Here’s a rundown of the Christmas depths and events at my favorite mountains.

Arapahoe Basin – 8 new inches, 35 inch base. As a special Christmas gift, the Pali Terrain has just opened.

Keystone – 9 new inches, 34 inch base. For $85, take your honey on a horse-drawn sleigh ride to dinner at a Soda Creek Valley cabin.

Breckenridge – 14 new inches, 54 inch base. Peaks 7, 8, 9 and 10 are open and full of pow.

Vail – 21 new inches, 53 inch base. Already waist deep in the back bowls!

Wolf Creek – 36 new inches with a 90 INCH BASE! That’s why Wolf Creek is famous.

Taos – 14 new inches, 64 inch base. The annual Christmas Eve torchlight parade begins at the base of Chair 1 at 6:00pm. It’s quite the spectacle. I recommend watching from inside the Martini Tree bar with a cup of hot chocolate.

More snow is on the way today and tomorrow from the Northwest. For many of us, it’s going to be a white Christmas!
