NATIONAL
A site which posts a daily update of available political polls, USA Election Polls today has Obama at 48.8 vs. McCain at 41.6. That’s an average of about 20 different national polls. The electoral vote estimate is Obama 334 vs. McCain 186 (270 needed to win.)
Another compilation site, Electoral-Vote.com, has Obama at 364 vs. McCain 157, with ties at 17.
CQ Politics: “McCain Pollster: ‘Too Close to Call’”
“Despite public polling showing Sen. Barack Obama with leads nationally and in the key battleground states, Sen. John McCain’s top pollster, Bill McInturff, released the following memo suggesting the race is not easily predicted by polls. He sees the race tightening and says it will be ‘too close to call’ by Election Day next week.”
Political Wire: “Obama Ahead or Tied in 8 Battleground States”
“Sen. Barack Obama, ‘now leads in four states won by President Bush in 2004 and is essentially tied with John McCain in two other Republican red states,’ according to new AP-GfK battleground polling.”

KTVB Oct. 20: Obama Supporters Still Believe Their Candidate Can Win Idaho
Republicans said they aren’t worried about the presidential race in Idaho. A September telephone poll by Rasmussen Reports had McCain ahead of Obama in Idaho by 39 percentage points.
