Tester Grabs Seat on Senate Appropriations Committee

This just broke out of Washington…

Montana Sen. Jon Tester will sit on the Senate Appropriations, one of the most powerful committees in Congress.

Tester’s office announced the news this afternoon. In the release:

“Serving as Montana’s only member of the Senate Appropriations Committee is a huge honor, but it’s also a huge responsibility,” Tester said. “I’ll bring the Montana values of accountability and transparency to the table. But I’ll also make sure that Montana has a voice when it comes to getting the most bang for the taxpayer’s buck—creating jobs and investing in our future. With Max Baucus as Chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, Montanans have a powerful team on their side in the U.S. Senate.”

Arkansas Sen. Mark Pryor also joined the committee.

Congratulations Senator Tester! An appointment well deserved! I am confident that you will use your new position to serve our entire country instead of doing what your predecessor did.(Bring the pork home & enjoy the perks of the office). You obviously realize there is no pork; at best there remains the pigs tail after the past 8 years. You have the potential to serve your country in the humble but effective way that Senators Mansfield & Metcalf did for so long.

Help our new president and your colleagues navigate the rough waters we face! GOOD LUCK JON.
